For some reason, in the last few months it’s been small gem of a outlets like these that have got me crazy to try food that is 1) reasonably priced and 2) awesome in taste.
Chinese Corner is a restaurant which I came across through Zomato about 2 years back, initially, they couldn’t deliver to where I was staying as it’ll take them around 45 minutes to just get to my place but just 1 year back I shifted to a new area in Gurgaon and gave them a call to know if they deliver here and they did.
I’m someone whose great fond of Chinese food and be it authentic Chinese of Punjabese(as it’s called, Chinese with Punjabi fusion), I’m fond of both of these versions of Chinese food. It’s the taste that matters.
For Chinese Corner, I’d say it’s between authentic and Punjabese. Taking no credit away from this place though, it’s IN FACT A GEM.
My first order with them was 3 chicken fried rice, 1 chicken in Schezwan sauce and 1 chicken drums of heaven. I got the food home delivered and it took nearly around 50 minutes for the food to arrive and let me state this - I live around 20 minutes away from this place so the preparation time is amazingly fast because the food does come hot and fresh to your door step with a very polite man delivering it.
As for the service, considering I get the food home delivered from here - and it comes to me in near about 50 minutes in general, I’d give it 5/5 for the amazingly quick service on their part and delivering to a place 20-25 minutes away from their restaurant.
As for the food, let me just say this - BLISS. The chicken friend rice is just like how it should be - filled with pieces of chicken, making it a true value for money. The schezwan fried rice is a MUST try, it’s very well spiced, just the perfect companion to your hunger. In fact, I don’t even require any main course to compliment it with; the fried rice is in itself a fulfilling and tasty meal.
As for the schezwan chicken in main course, it was a little sweet for my liking but I still liked it fine but the real steal of the show as chicken drums of heaven which my whole family relished and the 6 pieces were finished in 15 minutes - YUM.
In the last few months I’ve very regularly ordered from here, be it honey chilly potato(do try it, for those of you who like it crispy, this place has got just the perfect recipe for you), soups - spiced just as I like it and you can always spice it up with vinegar, but I like it the way they make it. The spring rolls are fine, nothing too fancy.
I did try their chicken in hot garlic sauce which I did very much like, more than the chicken in schezwan sauce. As I did say earlier though, I like having their schezwan fried rice alone with no main course, the taste is just fantastic and needs no company(yes, no gravy or any one to share it with, I can finish one plate of fried rice alone).:D
Coming to quantity now, I say this being someone who has tried a lot of chinese restaurants in Delhi NCR - this place perhaps provides the BEST value for your money in terms of their serving portions. For dishes like Fried Rice that cost around Rs120 to 130, the servings are huge and good enough for 2-3 people, which makes it a true value for money.
Not just the fried rice, the appetizers, soups, main course - it’s all so adequate in portion that a family of 4 can have a great time together, relishing the meal with their stomach full and spending nearly around Rs450-600 and that’s a real steal in the city of Gurgoan, where a single Chinese dish in a fancy restaurant can cost this much.
All in all, the service, quantity, quality and the love with which these guys prepare your food is what makes Chinese Corner a real gem of a place for chinese dishes in Gurgaon. If you’re craving for Chinese food, then this is just the right place for you.
