Although I had passed by this restaurant many times in East Street, just happened to visit last week after winding up some Diwali shopping with wife. We both love Chinese food, so thought of giving it a try, as we have always seen the place having some good crowd. We were happy to see that the decor was decent and had some nice Chinese murals on both walls.
The waiters were prompt and someone was always available at your behest, including managers who keep walking across, making sure that no table goes unattended. Liquor : Beers and liquors were very reasonably priced, with option of buying full-bottles of beer as well, which is more customer-friendly than compulsory pints. Sad to not see Tsing Tao on menu, but nevertheless no complaints with hard liquor choices. Food : I went for a Fried Hakka noodles with Pork, while my wife went for a Veg Manchow soup. First up, we got a serving of Kimchi and green salad. Both were good, although not something surprising. Manchow soup was very good, with an additional serving of crispy noodles. My Pork noodles was very well done, and I loved the taste and texture of pork.
One more place where I can happily order Pork without fear. Portion was pretty good. Especially if you are going for 1-2 share of starters, then 1 portion will easily suffice 2 people. Nothing great to claim about presentation, just the usual stuff. Ambience : All well done-up interiors and well maintained. Decent enough to take your family or spouse for a good meal, without blowing your wallet off. Comfortable chairs and couch options. Location: At the beginning of East Street, with valet parking and few reserved parking slots, and also easily walkable distance to the common parking-corner in front of Mayur’s, this is very easy to reach and hard to miss. Verdict : Nothing bad about this place. Nothing extraordinary either. But definitely worth a try for a decent meal at an affordable price, if you are looking for something new.
