Over priced and Over-rated

On 1st Jan2010, when I started for Jaipur, I was very excited about Chokhi Dhani as I had heard a lot of things about the place. Finally I reached there at 6:30PM and surprised to find out the entry fee is Rs. 500 for adult and Rs. 250 for kids between 3 - 9 yrs.

First surprise, even after paying Rs. 500, I had to pay for every thing inside be it gole-gappe or rides for my kid.

Second suprise, I was told that my ticket is for Buffet, I wondered If I had to pay more to get into the traditional Rajasthani dinner area, I was told NO. It was just that there were so many people so some are given buffet ticket.

Third Suprise, even in buffet area, you can get "Service", you know how, but as we were only three people no one cared about us. I called this guy atleat 5 times to come and clean my table but he would not buzz. I asked for who is the manager no one listened.

Finally, I took plate and went to take food, food was good, but then I was to pissed off by that time, I did not enjoy it at all. In fact I had got a lot better service (read Rajasthani food) in Global VIllage, which was hosted near Noida DnD in 2006.

Overall my experience was very bad.

One thing that some people might appreciate is village environment which is created here. As I myself have grown up in similar village, so there was nothing new for me.

You might enjoy there if you go in a bigger group and you have never see the village. But then again you patience will be tested while waiting for food.

This place might be good when there not much rush i.e. on Non-holiday days, but when are you going to out, of-course in holidays.
