Recently after thorough and extensive online research, with a little hesitation regarding the success of dishwashers in India, I bought a Kaff built-in dishwasher for Rs.30500. a day or two after my purchase I came to know that it is a Chinese model made by Midea. I think Faber also sources its dishwashers from this company.
So this caused me anxiety but I was not in a position to do anything about it so I let the dishwasher be installed.
Now a word or two about Kaff service. It is poor. The dishwasher was installed after a week. the reason given was the lack of dishwasher detergent kit. the guy who came to install it was not very knowledgeable about dishwashers. he kept on consulting the manual. After a few days I called again the service center regarding some confusion. this time again after a few calls and a week, a technician was sent. According to my wife, this technician knew about dishwashers. so to sum up so far service is not very heart-warming.
About the performance of dishwasher -it is great. it cleans every type of soiled utensils even the one used to boil milk. So even though it is a China made, it works very well. It takes about 90 minutes same as a fully automatic washing machine but it is no problem. We set the utensils in it and start it.
After 90 mins dishes are sparkling clean and hot and dry. in the starting for first 15 days, about 10% dishes came out not perfectly clean and a little soiled or a transparent shining substance sticking. but now all the utensils come out perfectly clean. May be my wife has perfected the art of setting the utensils or may be the dispensing setting of the rinse-aid is now optimum.
The dishwasher was installed in the 2nd week of the month and bai was already working. So after trying the dishwasher for about 3 weeks and resting the bai during this period, we have removed the bai from cleaning utensils and now she does only cleaning of the house.
regarding the availability of dishwasher kit, Kaff sold me the first kit at the time of installation and after 2 weeks I purchased another one from them, which they delivered to me at the time of 2nd visit of their technician. I have made up alternative arrangement with a company with a brand "Fortune" who deliver it to home. I deposited a cheque in one of their various accounts in various banks. so availability of kit is no problem.
The kit costs Rs. 300 and the detergent lasts for one month running the machine twice. so on average Rs. 250 per month expense+ electricity bill.
The build quality of machine though not very solid seems to be ok.
All in all, I am very happy with this dishwasher and if this Kaff dishwasher gave me any problem in future, I will replace it with a Seimens or Miele.
after one month of my initial review I am glad to report that dishwasher is going strong.
