First and foremost, let me admit the fact that BSNL has its major role to play in telecommunication in India. Its no doubt the best service provider in India, compared to all others. It does not require any fancy advt like others. Word of mouth is enough. Its the best.
But there are few internal problems that they yet to rectify and Im one of its customer who is effected out in the bargain.
Upon receiving an SMS from BSNL for GPRS activation 15 months back, I accepted the offer and requested for activation on my mobile. Inspite of sending several SMS to customer care centre, or to Nodel officer, GMs or even BSNL Headquarters at Delhi, nothing happend.
I have around 46 emails on record to prove communication lapses on BSNL. To my surprise, they have not replyed not even one of my mail. In the month of december2007, I have been contacted by them for GPRS activation and asked me to send in details on my Handset. After doing so, I received GPRS/MMS setting by SMS. But it doesnt work.
I get my monthly bill for December2007, wherein they have charged for the services, its followed for January2008 too.
While contacting them by email - ID provided on the monthly bill, the ID is not functioning, contacting the telephone number provided on the bill, its not functioning. There is no way to contact any officers of BSNL right from the State to New Delhi.
Therefore, in my opinion, these bill format being printed without updating the required informations, or the concerned authorities are not aware of the email functions.
Even now the GPRS activation is a question unanswered by them.
So, in my opinion, they need to improve a lot. If so, BSNL will be one of the best service provider in Asia.
