In advertisements, some refrigerator manufacturers are deliberately quoting the capacity of their various refrigerator models higher. They are doing it to get an unfair advantage over their rival manufacturers. Normally every manufacturer calculates the usable area of the refrigerator based on the cubic contents of the storage space.
However some manufacturers are calculating the total cubic content of the refrigerator including the area which is unusable. For example in two door refrigerators the area between the freezer and the bottom portion is unusable, however some manufacturers are wrongfully adding this area to the capacity of their refrigerators and thereby advertise their 215 liters refrigerator as 230 liters, 285 liter as 300 liters and so on. This happens because there are no laid down norms for calculating the capacity of the refrigerators, in India. So buyers beware. Don’t always believe the advertisement. Check the correct cubic content of the refrigerator you wish to buy. MAKE A CORRECT BUYING DECISION.
If you cannot calculate the volume, compare two refrigerators of same size but of different brands and the difference will show immediately.
