Buy a decent Amplifier stereo Amp is enough if you aren’t really an audiophile You can get an Onkyo amp for as less as Rs 8, 000 I think buy two decent speakers which go with the amplifier after checking all the power ratings etc etc.Should cost atmost Rs 7000.
The invest in a second hand computer with a decent configuration and add a okay sound card(Creative Live Value or something similar) Add a large harddisk 40GB+ This shouldn’t cost you more than Rs 15, 000 connect the COMP to your AMP and play MP3s on the system. You have to have a decent sized MP3 collection for this.
This is better than buying a new system since you spend almost as much if you bought a new system and whenever you want to listen to music you have to change cassetes cds etc here you choose only the songs you want to listen to and play them.
Incase you want to listen to your old tapes you can either connect your walkman to the Amp or transfer the songs from the cassete to the comp which is quite easy if you know how to do it.
