What is the main purpose of education since the time it was commenced and now? Degree, is that why we are taking such laborious efforts? or is it just a process with a hope to gain some knowledge.
I wonder if anyone even remembers what they studied when they were in standard 7th. So are we admissible for a graduation degree?
Education is getting knowledge of many things, its not just mugging up things for the time being and then forgetting it.
Why not include the basic topics in our education system....
Topics like Sex ( so that the young minds who in a way to find out answers for their curiousity, doesnt get misleaded) AIDS awareness, the economy of India, Accounts, the fundamental rights of every citizen which includes few articles from the Indian constitution.
These subjects since are useful for our day to day activity should be made compulsory to everyone. Yes, ofcourse , people can go for their specialisation after clearing the above concepts.
I being a student of Media, i am not happy with the Mumbai university who keeps changing the syllabus every year. Introduce topics like the History of India( more practical work than theoritical), Indian Penal Code 1860, Constitution of India( major), Political system of India. Definitely we are taught the above to some extent but why not in brief? why it looks as if these subjects are introduced, the exams are conducted as if they are doing some favour on us. Or as if they are following their duty and job ends?
Forget about knowing these things in detail which is necessary for every human being into the field of media------ where everyday you ’ll deal with the Government system of India and the society.
Advertising as a subject, we dont need the definition of that very term but give us certain product, ask us to write its script, come out with jingles and guide us to put our creative imagination into words.60% practical and 40% theory is what we want.
Why Indian education system cant work more practically? why it has to major everytime on the theoritical side? Dont you all think, the assignments, the projects on which we work on gives us more knowledge, easy to remember than the theory which we often mug up, sometimes understand , write and then automatically forget?
