Education in India is always depends on the parents of the students.They always decide what would be the subject of the student.For this cause many students cannot do great jobs where other countries are improving everyday.Suppose a student likes poetry or history better than mathematics.The parents always make him to take engineering stream.So the net result is always zero.
I think to choose a subject, parents always should talk to the child and then decide what the stream will be.A poet never can do better if he turns to an engineer.A minimum depth in mathematics is needed for engineering where as you always have to do better in the field of biology if you want to be a successful Doctor.

There is a caution.You always have to do your B.B.As/M.B.A s under a good university.Remember Institute is the main factor in the field of study.

You have to pass i.i.t/j.e.examintations to get your B.E/B.TEch degrees.There are so many institutions in our country where direct entrance is also possible(Manipal Institute of technology, Birla Institute of Technology, RAMAIA institute of technology etc. etc).But please assure that the institute has the prosperity in this field.
After the destruction of World Trade Center the market of I.T has spoiled.Try to avoid this subject.Electronic and Telecommunication has the best market in our country.
Medical Science & Microbiology:-
Medical science is the key subject.There are many institutions in our country.A good Doctor is the lifeline of a society.
In our state west bengal there are no scope in the field of microbiology.But in Bangalore microbiology section in the colleges are improving everyday.(I think Bangalore is the educational capital of our country).
Honours and Doctorate in Physics, Mathematics:-
Physics is a very tough subject.And anyone who has depth in this subject I am sure he should read Honours in this subject. I think to serve the people of our country a good physician is always needed. If a good student does his doctorate in physics he will get so many invitations from the abroad universities like Oxford or chembridge.
Mathematics is also like physics.A good mathematician or statistician is always welcome from the abroad countries.
Studies in History:-
I think in our country a good historian is also needed.Good students should take this subject. A doctorate in history is also very honourable.
