How can an MBA degree help you?

While working on this writeup my intuition has been to put forth the needs and advantages of the professional education in the growth of career development. Management has always been the part of our life, be it home management carried out by an organized house wife or management of a multi million empire by a business icon. In both the cases one has to be lass with business traits and tactfulness. But it could simply become a point of debate if we look at some of the great business leaders like D. B. Ambani and Azim Premji today. These legends neither pursued MBA nor went to Oxford for a professional degree but they have done well, so here comes the question, why to do MBA or for that matter any professional Degree?

There are very rare people who are born business leaders, there are many who have turned their fortune by their hard work but there are few but successful who have tried the combination of hard work and a competing education background. We could still manage things without being an MBA, we could still manage people with our vast industry experience but then we may get designated as HARI SADU. Hari Sadu symbolizes the managers of orthodox society who still believe that Human is a resource like any other and it requires to be handled in the same way as we handle money and machines.

A professional degree helps you conceptualize your thinking abilities and gives you a vision beyond boundaries. There are few but some solidcore and proven facts are given down.

  1. MBA teaches you the traits taken from some of the very successful managers in this business era. It empowers you with latest tools and techniques in management, it gives a shape to your mind rather it bents your mind towards the functional aspect of a business.

  2. With the increasing importance of human capital in the business and the stake of their effort in the overall growth of the business, we can no more consider human simply a machine that delivers. It has to be differentiated with the other inputs. MBA gives you a specialized approach to treat the human capital.

  3. In today’s business scenario where the business is bound by several laws and ethical code of conducts, MBA helps you in understanding these better.

  4. MBA helps you keep yourself organized and teaches you the techniques to minimize the deviations to the process, it gives you tools to prioritize your activities and goals and ultimately helps you to achieve that.

  5. A management program helps you in understanding the importance of time in the business; it focuses on constant efficiency rather than vague performances.

Overall, MBA gives you a sense of business you are in and prepares you to take strategic decisions, increases your mental balance, changes your thinking parameters, teaches you to handle pressure and gives you a weapon of success.

As a conclusion, a man equipped with zeal, aspirations and a well backed professional education touches the strategic think tank in the minimum possible time whereas a man with weak professional education may take several years to reach to the same level.

Knowledge is Power and it comes with great responsibility, MBA teaches you how to feel responsible!
