I recently purchased a LG WF-T507 5 kg washing machine, from a friend, he had brought the machine but when the floods happened in queensland he rushed back to be with family and friends, he was not able to take his machine with him(he had only had it about 2 months), so I purchased it, well 6 months later the gear box packs up. I have a service man in to let me know what the problem is he charges me$60 to tell me that LG would replace the unit rather than fix it because it is a major fault.
I rang LG but because I was not the original purchaser of the washing machine, they would not honour the warranty. they advised me to have a service person from LG come and have a look at the unit(which I was quoted at minimum$95), but even then they would not replace the item. You would think that LG would realise that a gear box problem is a major defect and not something that I could have wrecked by misusing the machine, but they did not care in the slightest, I would never ever buy another LG product, and I would never recommend an LG product to anyone
