Most of you are going to disbelieve me on reading this review, but these are facts.
The washing action is achieved by churning of the water by the pulsator{the round disk at the bottom of the large tub}. That is basically ALL there is to a washing machine! All the rest of it is marketing gimmick.
You see, the rotation of the disk throws the water in a centrifugal direction. Due to the property of cohesion and adhesion in water, the water rises up the sides of the tub, creating a pit in the middle. As it rises up, it loses its kinetic energy, and the centrifugal force, causing it to fall to the center. This creates turbulence. This comined with the property of surface tension is what causes the wshing action.
You can put any number of gimmicks - etc - they have a miniscule impact on the actual washing action. Dont believe me? Wash clothes in a small 3.5 kg machine as well as in a state - of - the - art semi automatic. Try it!
Just look for the following in a washing machine: size{kg capacity}, price, wash programmes - go in for one with 3 modes+ soak, service network, service reputation, spare part availability, and last of all looks.
It is only in the higher segment that you find value addition- I mean the fully automatic segment, wherein you get the choices of warm water wash, larger wash programmes etc. In this segment, you need to compare price to features, service reliability and spares.
Point to be noted: Almost all top brands are equal in terms of quality. What differentiates them is the service deliverance. That you can only glean by visiting all the stores and gathering information fro them.
