LG Washing Machine Service Horrors

I have a 3.5 year old LG WD-1080 washing machine. It has been in excellent condition, we use it twice in a week.


I have been facing DE error(Door Error) on this washing machine for 3 months now. Folowing is my experience with LG Service -

  1. I had to call numerous calling and follow-ups with LG service.  They have logged 3 differnet calls for same problem. They close calls without user feedback if problem has been resolved or not.

My complaint has been open for 3 months now.

  1. Technician competency levels - Technicians come from service franchise(A1 services in Bangalore) are not having much experience. They use trial and error. Whenever I contact call center, I am told we will send senior technician this time. There are no guarantees still if technician will turn up

  2. Spare Pricing Inconsistency - I was told door catch assemble needs to be replaced and was quoted Rs. 450/-  When technician cam to replace, he demanded Rs. 670/-

After being put across to earlier person, they charged Rs. 450/- for spare.

  1. Old Spare Sold as New - This spare replaced was an old spare and not new one. When pointed out, he kept on insisting thats how it comes.

Third engineer who followed confirmed the spare supplied is a used part.


No money refunded yet, problem persists

  1. Expensive Spares - Without really isolating door catch, now technicians claim that main PCB is problematic and inconsistent. They are asking for Rs. 5000/- to replace the same! Now this is 25% of my washing machine cost.

I bought this machine on service assurance from dealer, but it is a let down. The web is filled with DE error problems for LG washing machine. Should I be made to pay such high cost for them not fixing it permanently?


I have suffered their service with a new born baby inhouse. I am keenly exploring possibility of dragging them to consumer forum with objective of -


1.) Cheating me with spare prices and supplying old spares


2.)Delays in service


3.) Force all manufacturers to publish spare prices while they sell their products

  1. Try their Noida service in case you wish to escalate - Telephone Number - 0120-2560960 . NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THAT!
