We registered a complaint with LG for our washing machine WD-80495NP against the reference number RNA131104076437 more than a month ago as the machine completely stopped working.The first time we registered a complaint, a representative promptly came and told us that he had resolved the issue and the machine would now work. We checked and it was fine. The next day we loaded the machine with clothes and started the machine. It ran for about 10 mins and then stopped.
We called the LG guys again who promised to send a rep in 24 hours. We waited until the next 48 hours before we called again. We were told that the issue will be handled on a priority basis. 72 hrs passed before our next call and the same promise of priority handling was given to us again. We again waited a couple of days before we called and were given a local service center number which we tried to reach in vain as nobody picked the phone up in spite of a number of repeated calls.
We called back the LG toll free number again and this time we spoke to a supervisor named Sumit who conferenced the call with a local service manager and promised that a rep would be sent the same evening. We again waited for two days and called the LG number and this time were told that the supervisor Sumit was not available on the floor. With not much choice we waited another day and miraculously another rep came and checked the machine and gave us some more bad news that some part had to be replaced and he would be back with the part the next day.
It seems to be a policy at LG never to keep a commitment. The rep again did not come for 2 days and when he did replace the part, he told us that the problem was not with the part alone but there was more. He said the machine had to be taken to the service shop and he would come the next day. We inquired if we could exchange the machine but were told that exchange could not be done as the machine was covered under AMC. Its been about 5 days since the last inspection and nothing has progressed.
Worse, still today I received an SMS that my complaint has been closed.
The whole incident had been nothing short of a nightmare and I will not recommend LG even to an enemy.
