Pl. follow this para, its my experience and let me know if my logic is right with Pureit, HLL product:
I am an Ex-Eurekan, sold Aqua Guard fame, but I was in the vacuum cleaner division about 18 years before.
The **pureit experience:
One day, my cook cum maid was just referring that she bought a ’ pureit’ purifier and she is not able to get the ’battery pack’ - what they call as for that small stainless steel cylindrical rod which contains ’ chlorine’
Simple! but a simple technology sold for Rs. 1500/- 60000 units sold in the country,
but that battery pack is not available on shelf in a nearby supermarket, how will you use water when you need that battery pack without which you cannot filter.
The technology: (when asked, explained by one senior tech guy of HLL marketing team!!)

Which comes thru’ one small portion compartment in which this ss battery pack is positioned.
Alarming idea of HLL: This battery pack has a small nozzle (it contains ordinary chlorine) which is used by our corporation for bleaching the bad water which comes thru’ our metro water tank (ie why at times, we see chlorine smell, that is because, suddenly if the dirt content in the water is less, the proportion of chlorine to cleanse the dirt is more, so, chlorine is left out, hence smell comes...)
Water passes thru’ the battery pack where chlorine is released in small oozes...it really oozes..
all the dirt, bacteria, worms, get killed thru’ chlorine, dust and dirt gets sedimented in top portion of the vessel...
Water droplets filtered ones after chlorine treated, comes to the dispenser at the bottom.
BATTERY PACK COST : IS : 280/- COST OF CAPITAL EQUIPMENT IS : 1200-1500/- AT VARIOUS LEVELS OF DISTN. CHANNEL...
WHY WHEN OUR METRO WATER IS ALREADY TREATED WITH CHLORINE AND COMES PURE,
YOU DON’T NEED TO BUY A PLASTIC CONTAINER WITH STAINLESS STEEL CHLORINE PACK FOR 1500/- CAPITAL AND YOU DON’T GET THE BATTERY PACK, *
DISADVANTAGES:
- BATTERY PACK HIGH COST-280/- (MORE DIRTY THE WATER, THE MORE CHLORINE IT TAKES! BEWARE! THEY WILL CLAIM IT WILL COME FOR SO MANY LITRES...DON’T BELIEVE CHEAP TACTICS!...)
- NONE OF THE PRODUCTS BEING SOLD ARE REALLY USED BY CONSUMERS...ALL HOSPITALS IN CHENNAI MOST OF THEM HAVE DUMPED IT...
- AVAILABILITY OF BATTERY PACK IS NOT ABUNDANT..IT SHOULD BE ATLEAST IN YOUR NEARBY FOODWORLD OR NILGRISOR FABMALL OR ANY BRANDED SUPER MARKET OF THAT TOWN OR CITY...NO ...SO
WHY BUY AND WASTE MONEY...AS WELL DRINK BISLERI OR 30 LIT PACKS OF KINLEY...STILL BOIL IT 100 DEG. FOR ALL VIRUS, BACTERIA TO GET KILLED OR
JUST USE OUR TRADITIONAL CHLORINE TREATED METRO GOVT. WATER FROM TAPS...
SORRY, VERY BLUNT..THAT SALES MAN RAN AWAY...MY FRIEND SAVED 1500/-
