I recently purchased a racold 25 litres water heater one month back for which have faced a lotta heating problems takes a long time to heat compared to old racold water heater,
After a month I called the service centre they said that the coil is burnt so it has to be replaced so they would charge me a sum of 1050/- to replace it including service charges, why should I pay for a new water heater which is under guarantee I purchased a water heater at 7000 and just after a month another 1050 doesnt make any sense.
But the person from the service centre said theres no guarantee for coil burning out. and for usage of salt water, I had no other option other than paying for the service. thanks to me looking at my old water heater at home I purchased a new one of the same.
I contacted the dealer from where I purchased it but he said we cannot help you in any way as there are franchisses who take care of service today and we dont handle service, the model doesnt carry an ISI which means its no more indian standards ( its outsourced and marketed in the name of racold) , the inner container is made up of MS so if I am using borewell water it depends on the salt content in the water by which the tank can get corroded very fast leading to problems in future for which he said an old racold water heater used to carry a copper inner tank which was energy efficient as well as highly durable.
But today isnt that durable compared to the old racold water heaters, a copper tank water heater would be the best to buy. in terms of durability and energy efficiency. I as a consumer would never recommend this model to any one who would want to buy a water heater, Racold Sphp as shown on the sticker of the product.
