There are many fad diets out there that can kill you. As Richard Simmons says never say diet. What you need to do is learn a whole new way of life.
Drinking lots of water not only flushes out impurities in your body but releases fluids from building up in your body that can make you weigh more and cause problems with swelling.It doesnt have to bethat time of the month to have water weight gain so drink lots of water and I recommend spring water rather than tap water as it also has minerals in that are good for you.
Take a multi-vitamin every day to make sure your body gets everything it needs.
Exercise is important and you can burn off fat and calories.
It doesnt have to be push ups and all that boring stuff. A good brisk walk, bike riding, swimming and even dancing are great ways to get exercise and a lot more fun. Take some time every day to go take a walk if nothing else, even take some music along or a friend and you will find you walk further. If its raining take your umbrella and go anyway unless of course there is a heavy down pour but walking in the rain actually gives you a nice refreshed smell and feel.
Eat a half a grapefruit 45 minutes before your meal and it will curb your appetite beside being good for you.
If you eat smaller portions of food and the proper food, get exercise and follow these other steps you will lose weight.
Or you can go on an eating plan and just omit the junk food. Today we tend to rush too much and grab a greasy burger or some thing rather than cook a nice wholesome meal. Your body will thank you for doing it.
When I say cut out junk food I dont mean all the time save it for a treat now and then. Dont deprive yourself of the foods you like but rather cook them in a less fatty way or eat much less of them or work it off if you must have ten pieces of cake. A little joke because I have a very big sweet tooth. If it isnt in the house I am fine if it is I will eat it all at once so better for me and people like me to have it when I go out and then you cant over indulge.
Just basic common sense and a plan to take better care of yourself is all that you need.
Dont weigh yourself more than once a week or you can get discouraged as weight will go up and down and if you weigh to often you wont like what it says. Some times you will lose inches rather than weight and this is good also. Remember if you are over weight it took you awhile to get that way and it will take you awhile to lose it. Dont expect it over night. The fad diets that do that are not good for you and the weight will not stay off so be sensible in what you do.If you havent exercised in a long time start slowly with walking and build up a little at a time.
