O General: Oh! what a air conditioner

This is my beautiful experience about O general. 1. Feb.2006 : Bought a O General 1 ton split at a cost of Rs32000/-(about 3 times the cost of a branded windowAC or 2 times the cost of a split AC of identical capacity) 2. WorKing fine with good chilling effect and low noise after installation 3. April 2006 : Cooling effect reduced by 60%. In addition, huge water started coming out of evaporator(after about 2 hrs of running) fins as if water is flowing from the taps, which wet my bed. Most important point is that the AC’s water outlet was not blcked and water was coming out from that pipe also. 4. Complaint made over telephonically and their service engineer attended next day-definitely a good and memorable service. After inspection, their Dy Mgr, Mr. Partha chakraborty’s comment is that flowing of water is a very common phenomenon and can happen to any split AC(In my 25 yrs experience, I never observed a single case anwhere and against any AC’s, assembled or branded) 5. August 2006: cooling effect reduced by 80%, water from evaporator fins started wetting my beds once again.Remote not functionig. Again complaint in early hours. Co’s service person attended at 7 PM evening same day for preliminary check. Ohhhh!!!!!! what a service record Co. can claim. AC was set right after two days’ of trying, gas filling etc. 6. October 2006 : Water started flowing out more vigorously this time & wetting bed, floors after probably 3 hrs of running. Note: this time also there was no blockage from vent pipe, water was also flowing from that pipe like before. Co’s comment after listening: I told you earlier, this is a very common matter(ye to kabhi bi ho sakta hai). Can you deny that I have not given you very good services earlier. 7. Tamasha and days’ calculation continues(co’s marketing man partho chakraborty daily calculating how many days are left for expiry of the 1 yr warranty period. Like earlier occasions Mr. chakraborty’s contention is - he should be given one more chance so that he can prove his mettle.   I can recall an old myth about Bajaj scooter- Buy it and get rid of all dirty servicestations. I also own a bajaj scooter which was first seriously serviced after 8 yrs of prolonged use. In AC’s case somebody compared O general’s AC with Bajaj scooter and I immdtly bought it thinking it as a bajaj... in the offing.   my question to readers: Don’t you give full ervice marks to this co. for buying decision of your AC ?   Last News : I offered my proposal to the co:    Remove the machine from my room immdtly & return my money because I don’t like to taste your extremely good service. You need not have to return installn.charge, else I will officially write to carrier corp. to remove O General AC for fitting a carrier AC. Now, co. finds my proposal insulting, but I can’t help.    Questions to readers: How many good/VG/Excellent service do you think is acceptable to you during one year warranty period ? I solicit your reply at   My purchase document details; Seller: Rohit Refrigeration Co, 11A, Temple Street, Kolkata-72 Tax invoice no: RRC/05-06/2318 dt. 04.02.2006 Model :A0412 ASMT, Slno. T005272 My suggstion to this portal : Try to send this discussion to co’s Hq.(fujitsu General) at japan & USA. S. K. De, kolkata
