Bank Online or Inside. This Banks For Me!

In life, after we have worked very hard for the week and we get our tiny morsels called a paycheck! You know the piece of paper that has numbers on it, the numbers you receive after the tax guy, the FICA guy, the insurance guy(if you’re lucky), the union dues guy, and other guys, the small numbers that are left are yours.  You look at this small amount and wonder why even bother.  Well you have to bother because the bills have to be paid, the children need knew clothes, the wife needs her part, you need your part and so on and so on.

And the one thing you are sure about though is the bank that you have used.  You have used this bank for a very long time now and you have been very happy with them.  At least that brings a smile to your face.

I feel that way about my bank.  South Trust Bank!  I have used them off and on for over 20 years now.  What I mean by off and on is, with all the different places I have lived, South Trust was not always available, but where it was available I have used them above all others.

They offer me a large variety of banking needs and a security that I know is there when I go to bed at night.  If there has ever been a problem, they have always been there to help me fix it.  And the once or twice it was their fault, they have made good by it.  And when it was my fault, they didn’t make me feel stupid.

The Web Site

I do a lot of banking online at their website https://southtrustbank.com which is a very attractive site in blues and whites.  The site is very easy to get around and the pages load very quickly.  I feel very safe using their online site with no problems.  And I can access my account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

I check my balance every morning Tuesday through Saturday, (the balance is the same Sundays and Monday’s until the site has updated.)  I can check for specific checks and specific deposits.  I can see images of my checks, front and back, which I can print if I need to.  I can order checks right there from the website, which I have done/

Forms Requested From the Site

Service Requests: which are, order checks, change address, change email, copy of check or statement, South Trust Bank Card Dispute, Online Bill Payment Research, Add accounts to existing relationship or Revoke consent to receive electronic disclosures.

Technical Support: Problem reporting form.

Information Request: Questions about South Trust products and services.

General: Customer Service Inquires.

Disclosures: Online Banking Service Agreement and Disclosure Statement.

I have used several of the forms and have had no problems in doing so.  If I have any questions at all, I can email the bank and they respond right away.

Online Tools

From the website:  Our financial planning tools give you the opportunity to explore a variety of financial situations:  new car verses used car, lower interest on your credit card verses a lower annual fee.  Using these tools can help you make the smartest choice for your current personal financial situation.  The tools include: Auto Financing, Line of Credit, Credit Card, Retirement, Roth IRA, Savings and Mortgage.

Funds in all SouthTrust accounts are subject to the Funds Availability Policy that was given to you at account opening. If a temporary hold is placed on deposited funds, these funds are not available for withdrawal, bill payment or transfer during the hold period, even if these funds are reflected in your online banking balances.

Direct Deposit and Fee per month

I do direct depositing, which I think was one of the best things any bank could have ever offered their customers.  Forget the lines baby, the checks all ready there!

I pay a$9.00(US) fee a month for all of my services.  I am part of the “Bankers Dozen” in which I get my checks for free with unlimited writing.  I really like that part.  I know some bank offers free checking, but for how long?  Is it lifetime? Or is it just to get your business?  I don’t mind paying a small fee.  Especially with a bank that I trust!

I can also access that same 800 number which is 1-800-225-5782 for automated information or to speak to a customer service representative.  This is also a nice feature because I can call on Saturday morning and get a live person.

I can use the help desk at any time should I have the need to do so.

How I Feel

Like I state earlier, I trust this bank.  I have used them for a very long time.  Even when I was a young girl at age 10 I used them.  My father is a retired Agriculture, Horticulturist teacher, and each year we would borrow money to purchase my cow and hog with for the upcoming shows.  And each year I would pay them back.

Once I borrowed money from them to go on a class trip to New York City, and I paid it back that summer by working in tobacco.  Of course my father always co-signed with me, but my name was always first.  I guess you could say that I have grown up with South Trust Bank.

I have the option to go online or go to a local branch.  For me online is easier because where I now live my closest local branch is 12 miles away.  But I also have to say this, because I have such an outstanding account with them, last year they cashed checks for my father with no problems and no fees.  And I have gotten many things notarized and copies made.

The convenience with online banking is that it is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and I can always check my balance, check specific checks or deposits, as far back as last year or the year before.  I have had no problems.

So if you are in the market for a new bank, consider South Trust Bank.  They do offer a lot of online services, and they also offer in house services.  Go and talk to a representative today or give them a call at 1-800-225-5782.

I hope that this has helped in some kind of way.

God Bless!
