ICiti Bank Credit Card Problem
want to narrate my experience with Citi Bank Credit Card two years back. Once I received my bill in which around 7 international transactions were made amounting to Rs. 15000. I duly cutted my credit card in four pieces and sent to their Chennai office.I, also, made several requests to their Customer Care/Billing department, by informing that I have not done these transactions were not done by me.But this was an appeal to deaf ears and they continuously imposed late fee interests and penalty.These transactions continued for 4 months unless I stopped. For complete 1.5 years I continued correspendence and the outstanding amout raised to 26 thousand. In the meanwhile I traced the person who was of my city and I collected from his house which showed that all the material was delivered to his residence.
This was also informed to citi bank customer care, which on the basis of each transactions declaration form they investigated and informed the same persons act.Again this took 6 months and finally I moved to court given my application supported by documents in which the involvement of that thief was proved.
Surprisingly after 1 month I received a call from Delhi Customer Care Manager, asking again the same story which I had several times explained to representatives of the Card Department.
And before the court could deliver its judgement, Citi Bank Card Division people came to my Advocate and asked for out of court settlement.This was done and the citi bank reverted back my total outstanding with apology.
My contention before the court was that in the intenet purchase, if some one steals details of the card, there is no pass word or PIN so that the person doing transaction may secure his interest.
Later on Citi Bank Credit Card Division also agreed that as per their practice goods are delivered at the address which has been given at the time of applying on for the credit card and in this case they ignored this practice.
However I suffered a lot mentally and said Good Bye for the whole life and any person who ask me about internet transaction I used to give a negative opinion about the citi bank
.ICICI Bank Credit Card Problem
Apart from this also I want to narrate another experience happened with one of my friend who had dropped a cheque in the drop box on 3of the month against the credit card bill known to him thru ICICI Bank call center number.He simply dropped the cheque.His last date was 9th of the month, till 7th he did not receive any sms message on his mobile nor on his internet.Assuming that the cheque was misplaced, he issued another cheque and this time gone to Branch Office of ICICI Bank.On the same day he received an e mail that the cheque dropped on 3rd was received.He had in the mean time instructed his Banker for stop payment, as he had issued another cheque.
So again he had to instruct his banker for stop payment of later cheque as the old cheque was presented to his bank.In this whole process he had to pay Rs 70 as stop payment charges to his bank. ICICI Bank received his first cheque payment but since second cheque was bounced, they charged cheque bounce charges and service charge on this amount. They also charged late fee charges and interest for late payment.
My friend had made correpondence attaching the payment received e mail and other mail which he had sent, then by Gods grace, ICICI Bank informed that they will revert the both the charges amounting to 450.
So what if the cheque is dropped in the drop box and if is misplaced really.Whats the fault of the card holder, and if he do not fight the bank, he had to suffer a lot
