Here are things I know papa would love as gifts.
1) Music - Especially Indian / Western Classical / Instrumental.
2) Books - Loves to Read.Humour / Non-Fiction being ATFs.
3) A t-shirt with Garfield on it:) - I have been meaning to paint one for him since time immemorial.and I swear I will do it on the R-day holiday!
4) Time -Just sit down for 5 minutes.:) Spend some time with him.ask him how his day was.need not be a major thing.but even this would make him very happy
5) Shirts - Although he doesnt wear shirts too often(and prefers T-shirts).I want to buy him a nice formal one.cos formals look very good on him.will buy some light, pastel shirts.
6) A secure and loving future - Even when you are married andhappily settled with your spouse and children.do not forget that he slogged a major part of his life to provide for yourpocket money(which more often than not wasnt in your pocket!) My biggest hatred is of people who conveniently forget their parents in their old age - and think that giving them a monthly allowance and a maid / servant is enough! - some people do not even do that.what if your parents had sent you off to a full-time creche / boarding school and not even checked on you.how would you feel?(Yeah - took this from my review onChoosing Gifts for a Mother - cos wanted to convey same message!)
P.S.:- My 20th Review! Yaaaaayyyyy!
