I love giving gifts to friends and sometimes those friends may need the most practical gift around! So the following are gifts that I have given and do give and will give to my friends. Whether they are getting married or if it’s their birthday or Christmas or just because, these gifts are great for anyone at any time.
One of those gifts is a Black and Decker® Versa Brew Plus™ coffee maker about 9 months ago. The price was right at only$19.96 at my local Wal-mart. The coffee maker is simple and a great gift to give to the coffee drinkers that you call friend. Besides, if you are going to be over at their home I think you should at least have a coffee maker that you know will product great coffee!
This coffee maker is a 12-cup, which we both really like for the more the better! You friend can also make just a half of pot of coffee when he/she is alone. The time to make a whole pot of coffee is around 7 to 8 minutes. Time to make 1/2 pot is around 4 to 5 minutes. (This is not bad since this coffee maker is a cheaper model.) See what a practical and useful gift a coffee maker is!
Black and Decker® Cordless Drill/driver 7.2 volt, model BDC752. This drill has an integrated light that will allow your friend to use in dark places and I find this feature very helpful and had never even thought about it being on a drill until I saw in on ours.
It also has a battery indicator that will let your friend know when the battery needs recharging. It has a keyless chunk for quick and very easy bit changes. A textured grip that helps to hold on to it in comfort and very lightweight.
It comes with an integral battery charger, one double-ended bit and light bulb and kit box. 2-speeds; 300/600 RPM, 3/8 capacity steel with ½ wood and offers a 2-year warranty and instruction booklet, which you should read before use. $89.00 was the cost. Of course this gift will most likely be a gift at Christmas or Birthday since it can get costly. For a very special friend.
A cooler is my next choice. Yes, I said cooler. They are practical and very useful gifts. And those of you who know me know I love to fish, well so do my friends and family. So a cooler is a perfect gift.
Coleman® 50 qt. Wide Body™ Cooler with extra wide body interior that holds larger dishes and lots of other stuff too!
This cooler will hold 61 12-oz cans plus ice, 2-liter bottle upright. It has two-way handles, which make toting the cooler a lot easier. Each handle is easy to lift and take the cooler through those tight places. I know putting the coolers on our boat was a lot easier as well as my friends when they join us fishing.
Your friend will also find a leak resistant drain that helps to get all the water drained down so that you friend can pour out the rest of the melted ice without breaking their back by trying to lift the cooler and then pour or turning the cooler over on one side without having to worry about cracking the cooler.
There is also a tray that has a center groove in it that allows you put sandwiches or candies or other things and keep them separate. However, your friend can also freeze water in this tray to help keep drinks cold or you may choose not to use the tray at all.
The actual size of this cooler is 15” x 22.5”x 16.75”. Just right for the boat or camper!
Another great gift for your friend is something that will help them out in the kitchen is the Hamilton Beach® Family Size 6 Slice Toaster Oven/Broiler. With 85% larger capacity that cooks whole chickens, roast, pies and pizzas.
The unit is white in color with a clear door that allows your friend to see the food cooking. The Bake Pan can be used for all meats that they may want to broil. Using the grid is very helpful because all the fatty juices will fall away from the meats into the bottom of the pan, so your friend will have no excuses!
The knobs are found on the right hand side of the unit. At the top is the temperature knob that ranges from “0” to “450” degrees. The middle knob is for functions like: “Keep Warm” “Broil” “Bake” and “Toast”.
The bottom knob is the timer, in which you can set from 5 minutes or less up to 15 minutes or “stay on”. But now if your friend uses the “stay on” they should use another timer that will go off so that they don’t forget what’s cooking in their Toaster Oven/Broiler.
And at the very bottom of the knobs your friend will find a “light” that allows them to see that the unit is working. The oven does have grooves in the sides, which allows them to adjust the rack accordingly to your cooking needs. This is always a good thing for a cook! High, Low and middle positions.
And yet one other gift to give a friend to help them close up the end of the day is a Spa. Not the big ones that cost lots of money but one that will fit over the edge of the tub.
The Deluxe Hydro Bath Spa by Conair® has a multidirectional, dual hydro-jet action with two independent, adjustable nozzles for a customized bubble action massage to completely soothe tired, overworked, and aching muscles.
It also offers Custom Control of Double Jets and Intensity of Bubble Action for the perfect comfort. A sturdy, adjustable arm witch allows for easy grip on the edge of any standard tub. (If they have a garden tub, they will have at least two narrow places, in which they can mount a bath spa.) The arm is found in the handle and moves up and down with ease.
There are three suction cups that firmly secure themselves to the tub for a sturdy hold. Two of them are on the side of the unit and the other one is underneath the handle, just before the arm of the unit.
There is a telescopic feature, which allows for adjustment to any water level. A mood light with intensity adjustment to help reduce stress and help your relaxation. Your friend can adjust the light however from a low intensity to a high intensity.
And of course there is a 16’ foot cord for easy use with outlets. And the on/off switches. There is one for the unit and one for the bubbles. There are also powerful dual water jet nozzles, that independently are movable to direct the soothing, bubbling massage to any bodily aches and pains that you may have. These are really nice. They move up and down making the adjustment of the bubbles just right for me.
The unit also has removable filters(filter caps) for easy cleaning. And it is recommended that your friend remove them after each use and clean them. They, the filter caps turn very easily when removing and are very easy to clean and put back. There is one on each side of the unit and they do go into the water. One end has a mesh filter that catches dirt and hair. Your friend can also use bath beads, (non oily) with this unit.
Choosing a gift for a friend is very easy to do. Practical gifts that I have listed are just that. practical. Any friend would want them I think and if not, then something is wrong with that friend and you should sit them down and have a talk with them!
Of course practical comes with aging and maturity I think because when I was young these type of gifts may not have been what I realized I actually needed much less wanted. But with age one realizes the easy steps in life is the only way to go!
Whether you have male or female friends these gifts are a great choice for them to have around the house. Both sexes can use any of them as needed.
