I think mothers are the best and most unbelievable beings.can you imagine anyone else being so selfless, so caring and so loving.someone who puts her children and family before everything else.even her own needs, wants and preferences.and I think in terms of emotional strength, a mother is MUCH more strong than a father!
so when there is an occasion.come to think of it, you dont need an occasion to gift your mom something.in fact, it will be more valuable to her, if its an impromptu andno occasion gift.here is a list of gifts I think are perfect(am thinking about my mummy when making this list - so might not be verygeneral)
1) Saree - Mummy claims she has too many of them.but I noticed the sparkle in her eyes when I gifted her a saree.whatever said and done, a woman can never havetoo many clothes:)
2) A vacation - I plan to do this in the near future.send mummy and papa on a vacation.need not be aYash Chopra location - such as Switzerland.but a nice place where they can just relax.and I think they work TOO hard.for us kids!
3) A recipe book - She LOVES to cook.and thanks to fussy eaters like yours truly.she LOVES to try different types of cuisines.
4) A personal TV set / radio set - More often than not.mummy sacrifices her favourites TV serial / radio show for Cricket / Football / F.R.I.E.N.D.S. / your choice of music etc.and doesnt say a word.if you ask her -Do you want to watch something?.she saysNo.no.you go ahead and watch. - She is LYING - cos she wants to see you happy!
5) Time - Give her your time - spend a day with her.go out shopping.or for lunch / dinner.or just sit and talk(Listen to her more than talk - for a change!) and she will be even more happy than any of the above!
6) A secure and loving future - Even when you are married andhappily settled with your spouse and children.do not forget the sacrifices and love of the woman who has contributed a LOT to make you what you are! My biggest hatred is of people who conveniently forget their parents in their old age - and think that giving them a monthly allowance and a maid / servant is enough! - some people do not even do that.what if your parents had sent you off to a full-time creche / boarding school and not even checked on you.how would you feel?
