My Niece's Go Off To College

I have several Nieces that are heading off to college and need some things for the new place.  It’s not a problem buying for them for they need it all!  It’s almost like a shower gift if there were getting married.

One of those gifts is Cooks Essentials, which are made exclusively for QVC®.

The 4qt Chef’s Pan has a long handle that does not get hot.  SilverStone Select™ with ScratchGuard™ interior is safe for metal utensils, this is the new age Teflon coating, which is durable enough for any type utensils, in fact, and you are encouraged to use any type!

I will use my stainless steel utensils all the time and have never scratched the surface.  Keep in mind that the porcelain enamel exterior is baked at high temperatures, which allow for a longer lasting finish.  There is a hi-low anti-warp even heat base that keeps the pan flat and secure for safe stovetop cooking.  Green, blue, red, black and white are the available colors.

The lid is all glass with a black handle in the center, vented.  The new lid is stainless steel and glass with a black handle in the center, which has a lever that allows you to release the steam while cooking.  The Intelligent Smart lids feature a revolutionary steam vent knob that automatically opens to release excess steam.  Great feature!

Dishwasher safe, you better believe it!  This pan can be put in my dishwasher and come out clean!  Although I don’t always put it in there, because sometimes I can just take a damp clothe and clean the pan up.  Product has a lifetime warranty.

Another great gift for my Niece was the Cook’s Essentials Hard coat Enamel Nonstick 13pc Cookware Set is one of the best on the market I think.  The set includes: 1 qt. and a 2-qt covered sauce, 3 qt covered sauce with a steamer insert(which is really handy with corn on the cob!), 6 qt covered stock, 10” covered frying pan, 12” frying pan, 14x9x3 rectangular roaster.

Each piece is coated with Scratchguard™, DuPont’s™ metal utensil-safe nonstick coating. The porcelain enamel exterior is baked at high temperatures for a long-lasting look and use.  And the hi-low anti-warp even heat base keeps pans flat and secure for safe stovetop cooking.  The same Intelligent Smart Lids come with this set and a lifetime warranty.  They are also dishwasher safe.  (this is a gift that you may want to consider splitting the cost with the Grandparents or Parents of your Niece.  Around 200.00 US Dollars.)

I have also given my Niece a separate frying pan.  Every time I buy myself one I buy one for someone else so this time it was hers. Farberware® skillets are made with Hard Anodized non-stick surface.  They combine Dupont’s™ tough SilverStone® to these skillets, which also have a recessed pattern cooking surface that not only increases nonstick durability, but will also allow tiny air pockets.  And these air pockets help browning and sautéing with very little or no oil of any kind.  I have to admit that I will use a little cooking spray with them form time to time.  They make such nice gifts to anyone really.

Hard-anodized cookware is really good stuff!  It is twice as hard as stainless steel, and provides an excellent heating up the side of every pan. I don’t think there is a better surface for nonstick durability.   Lifetime warranty.

They also offer a stainless steel lid that looks really nice and cleans up well.  And the handles on each skillet are very durable as well.  The handles do not get hot to the touch!  However, keep in mind, that all handles and I don’t care who makes them, are subject to get very hot while cooking, depending on how you cook with them.  For instance, don’t leave the heat on high!  Of course with these skillets, I don’t cook on high heat, except maybe to get grease hot, then I turn down.  But all other foods, I cook on medium to low heat.  It’s not necessary to cook hotter with this product.

Every Niece needs pieces of Tupperware™.  One of my favorites is Tupperware® Crystal Wave™ Soup Mug, which is a very versatile little dish.  Weighing in at 16 oz’s. and coming with a nifty handle for easy gripping and lid for a tight seal and a vented cap for keeping the steam in and then allowing the steam to come out and a footed base for even reheating and it even has a large tap on the lid that helps you to get the seal off easier.  Now that’s a great product in my book!

It even has a full line indicator on the inside and it can go from the refrigerator to the microwave with no problems. She can use this handy little soup mug for reheating or heating soups, chili’s, cakes, cookies, brownies, oatmeal, cereals, gravies, sauces, noodle’s and so much more.  And she can use it at the office or her place of work or in the dorm.

Crystal Wave™ Soup Mug comes in a color called Indigo(Which I call Navy) and the vented cap is white.  (The old one that we have is light blue with a green seal and a white-vented cap.  I think the old one also had a green lid with yellow-vented cap.  But our old one has the white-vented cap, I doubled checked to be sure!)

And its made with a durable plastic that only Tupperware® can do.

Tupperware® Cereal Storer™ is a great product to have in my book.  No one likes a stale cereal at all.  I have four of these Tupperware® Cereal Storer’s™.  Two with the blue lids and two with the green lids.  They hold 13-cups of cereal or and average size box of cereal.(medium sized box if you prefer.)  And now both of my Nieces have a set of these!  Aren’t I a great Aunt!

The containers are clear so that you can see what kind of cereal you have in each one.  The lids fit firmly on the top, air tight to keep in freshness and keep out staleness.  The lid also has a flip open lip/spout that allows the cereal to be poured from the top without any messes.  You should make sure that the container is sealed properly.

They are dishwasher safe or you can wash in warm, soapy water.

Over the years I have bought many things for my Nieces and I just have to keep in mind that as they have grown up their needs have changed as well as their taste.  Anything I buy for them they can always take back so hold on to that receipt!

I hope that this has helped in some kind of way.

God Bless!
