You must have given someone a gift. If not recently, then maybe years back. If not years ago then maybe just recently.
Maybe because it was their birthday, or their marriage anniversary or even because they bought a new house. Or maybe because you just wanted to tell them that they are special and have a significant meaning in your life.
Tere Liye -For You
ThatYou can be anyone. Mother, father, grandparents, siblings, lover, friend or even someone whom you do not have a relationship with. The giving of a gift in itself is a special occasion and shows above everything else, that you sincerely love the person. The point being that.
.There does not need to be a relationship between two people in order to give or receive gifts.
And if you fall in the category of those who cannot even remember when was the last time you gave a gift then all I can say is that.youre not alone. But just think how it would feel if you made that effort and gave something to.
Your Mother
She who gave you birth and nurtured you. The life of a mother can be extremely difficult and sometimes unrewarding. She has to wake up before everyone else, sometimes even before the Sun, and start her daily chores.
If nothing else then help her with her work around the house. A mere suggestion from your behalf offering to share her workload will definitely lessen her burden. Sometimes we forget but a mother is also a human who can sometimes fall ill. Remember she is the one that takes care of everyone in the family who falls ill, and if she falls ill then it is your duty to take responsibility and take care of her.
“Born in your shade, I forget sometimes.
The suffering you take, I forget sometimes.
Nine months in your nest, you nursed me.
When I flew away,
Much to your dismay,
Your tongue still never cursed me.
Your wings around me, I forget sometimes.
The suffering you take, I forget sometimes.
I never forget to look in the mirror,
In the mirror I see not myself,
But a bird of your care,
Head tilts down, I cannot stare.
Born in your shade, your suffering,
I remember sometimes.”
A “jadoo ki japphi” is always effective whenever, wherever, to whomever.
Your Father
His are the shoulders that you sat on and saw the world from a new height. His was the hand that held your finger and taught you to walk. His arms gave support to you when you would constantly lose balance. His is the blood in your veins.
The stress a father has from work is also abundant. Usually he is the sole breadwinner working as many as 6 days a week to ensure that his children are given the luxuries that they dream of.
When was the last time you told him how much you love him? When was the last time you provided your hands to support him? At times his mind may be bombarded with troubles but he will never let you. If you sense his worry, then ask him what is troubling him. Divide his problems and they will decrease, and share your love…it will surely increase.
A “jadoo ki japphi” is always effective whenever, wherever, to whomever.
Your Friend
Your pillars of strength. From girl problems to the problem being a girl, friends stick by you.
“A friend in need,
Is a friend indeed,
Doing the right deed,
Irrespective of creed,
To the truth they lead,
And your hunger for companionship,
They do feed.”
Sometimes we forget that they spend all day and night helping us. Whether in college or whether in the office, no one can do without friends. This relationship is not blood related but friends are willing to shed blood if necessary for the sake of a friend’s happiness.
During their problematic times, when you see them with their head in their hands, a friendly gesture, a comforting embrace. A friend always shares joys, but a true friend, can share tears as well.
A “jadoo ki japphi” is always effective whenever, wherever, to whomever.
Your Beloved
I used to be a drunkard, but now I have stopped because no wine contains as much intoxication than what is lushing from her lips.
The obvious gift for a beloved would be roses, a card, a necklace etc. I too recommend these things, however there are other gifts. When was the last time you told him or her that you loved them? Today? Well no one can ever hear it enough that you love them. Give as much as you want but a person always hungers for more love.
A gift which lasts a lifetime is a true gift. Rather than going to a shop and buying her(I’m saying her because I’m a he) a necklace or roses, spend that time with her. Give her memories that will last for a lifetime…could there be a better gift?
As a gift, bestow her with a promise which symbolises your faithfulness and your belief in the relationship. Give her your time, your joy, your sorrow, yourself…give her you.
A gift is a gift is a gift. A relationship does not need to exist between two people to give a gift. An exchange of glances with a stranger can be a lifelong memory sometimes.
A gift is a gift is a gift. The size of the gift should not matter, what should matter is the size of heart of the giver.
A gift is a gift is a gift. Whether expensive or not, the value lies in the eyes of the beholder.
Today is the 15th of August, Independence Day. Today we should all give a gift to the martyrs who died fighting for freedom. By remembering them on this special day, we keep their memory alive. To progress in the future, one must remember their past.
Today we should give a gift to all the fellow members of the nation by forgetting hatred and preaching messages of unity. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian or whatever faith, we are all Indian. As courageous soldiers protect the country from the borders, we must do the same on the inside. This should be our gift to our motherland.
How I envy all you in India right now, celebrating with utmost joy. I try to do the same in London, par who baat kahan.
You may feel that my review was not a clear review on this topic and it might not have helped you at all in this category. However, I feel the greatest gifts are emotions that we as humans can give to other humans. Forgive me if you feel that this review was not helpful. But its straight from the heart…wishing you all a happy independence day.
“Dil diya hai jaan bhi deenge, aye wattan tere liye.”
With few words…
But true words…
