BACKGROUND MUSIC, is the key!

Music for a party has a lot to do with the type of party you are having.

For instance, if you’re having a formal dinner party, you really don’t want to hear Axel Rose yelling about Paradise City above the conversation of your guests.  Some nice soothing light jazz or classical music, in the background would be more appropriate.

For your backyard bar-b-que on a Sunday afternoon, where everyone is jumping into the pool and throwing frisbees and munching on hot dogs, Axel might fit in.  Make the music fast and festive!  Keep the party excitement level up for this one.

For an informal get together with your close friends and a bowl of spaghetti(or curry), you can have some easy listening music playing in the background.

Whatever the ocassion for the party is, make sure the music is playing in the background so it never overpowers the conversation.

Your home is not a club.  No one wants to have to yell over the music to be heard.

When in doubt.  ASK you guests what they’d like to hear.

Just a note here.  If you’re a teenager and your friends like and expect loud, blaring, overpowering music, by all means play it!  If your friends like Rap.Rap away, Hip-Hop.start hoppin’, Metal.bang your heads and form a mosh pit in your living room.  I’m aiming this particular review at the older folks here.

NOT saying that any of us are old!

Oh, hell, yes, some of us are!  Especially when it comes to loud, booming music.

Whatever you choose for your background music at any type of party, make it just that.Background.  Don’t make your guests feel uncomfortable about yelling over music that is too loud.

Well, that’s my opinion.What’s yours?
