Mumbai is virtually two distinct cities, the North and the South. Bandra is the last point of the northern city or commonly known as The Suburbs. Highlight of South is Worli, Nariman Point, Colaba etc. Travelling time is a major concern in Mumbai, therefore the decision of accommodation is based on which part of town one needs to stay at.
If it is the suburbs, Taj Lands End is the best choice, not so much for the product but its location. Bandra Band Stand is the celebrity address in the city. It is on the sea shore and close to the shopping district. Accommodation may cost between Rs.4500 - 7000 per night. Another distinctive room with view is The Renaissance. It offers a panoramic view of the Powai Lake bordered by little hills and sky scrapers of the Hiranandani Gardens. The only problem is accessibility.
If it is in the South one wants to head and has a leathered boner in the back pocket, The Oberoi is an obvious choice. Rooms provide magnificent view of The Arabian Sea. Service standards of the hotel makes every penny worth its while.
For the price conscious Marine Plaza offers the most ideal value for money proposition. Similar view of the ocean and walking distance to the city centre and the watering holes.
South definitely is a better location to be in. The city here is much cleaner and livelier.
