A bit of Chori 'n' lots of Chupana!

After a lot of Chori and Chupana and the producer still hovering behind bars, the movie is finally on the Big Screen and surprisingly it had a very good opening in most cities. Probably the delay & all the hype surrounding it made it all the more exciting for our ever so curious audience to come crashing to the cinema halls..

So whats it about? Well Chori chori..has a entertaining and fresh beginning. The cameras take you to a huge mansion nestled in a lush green part of Delhi. Enter Amrish Puri(Kailashnath Malhotra) the modern day and proud dadaji Of Salman khan (Raj Malhotra). There’s is a rich classy, well known happy industralist family, including Dalip Tahil, Farida Jalal as the doting mother and Jonny lever..All Dadaji needs now is a great grandchild to carry on the family legacy.

A couple of scenes later Rani(Priya) is the beautiful Bahu in the family. She gets pregnant and soon after loses her unborn child in a accident. Twist. So now she wouldn’t be able to ever mother a child again. Sob Sob! In order to avoid breaking familys heart(especially dadaji’s), this is kept a secret between hubby-wife and the Family docter(Prem Chopra)

Soon, Miss concerned wifey comes up with the only solution of a surrogate mother & convinces hubby dearest.

Enter. Preity Zinta ( Madhubala) a cute dimpled hooker. Salman convinces her to mother his child and pays her a exhorbidant amount of money to live with him for a year. The scenes that follow are directly copied from ’Pretty Woman’’...Well, the rest of the story is no big surprise..All I can say is watch it for yourself ..You might find it a wee bit unbelievable at some points..

The plus point here is the music by Anu Malik. He has managed to craft out some hummable numbers. The performances deserve special mention too. Rani is ever so convincing as the lovable wife speaking & emoting volumes through her eyes. Preity is thoroughly convincing too as she mouthes some loud & funny dialogues. She has done a brilliant job! Salman has a mature, subdued role for a change(You wont find him removing his shirt or cracking stupid jokes). Believe me guys, he is good! Amrish puri is the best of all..

Chori chori chupke chupke reminds you of `Har dil jo pyaar karega’(the earlier Salman, Rani & Preity starrer) and `Pretty Woman’. The director duo Abbas Mustan have tried their hand at clean family drama after their earlier suspense thrillers Baazigar, Daraar and Soldier..

The plot though sketchy & jumpy at some points keeps you moderately absorbed & entertained. Its a movie one can watch with family and friends and go home humming the title song. I would rate it as above average. So, go ahead and watch it if what you need is a Subtle Salman, a Doe eyed Rani and a Chirpy Preity!!!
