Christopher Lance Cairns, is one of my favourite cricketer, Hard hitting batsmen and a ’not bad’ bowler. Hes in the double club of 3000 runs and 200 wickets in test cricket. He is a Team player, and never selfish, He has done well against all teams and especially against india.
He has won lot of matches for newzeland by himself and though unpredictable he delivered more often than not. If not for the injuries he has got atleast 2 years of cricket left in him. Its good that he has decided to retire when on a high, very few people have performed well on their last test.
Getting 9 for the match in no mean achievement. No Team would want to leave such a performer. He commanded respect from his captain and selectors.
I think Jacob Oram should try and fill the gap that crains had left in the New Zeland team. Cricket fans all over the World definitely miss entertaining innings from crains in test matches.
