I would like to share my personal experience at CMC. Nobody knows normal delivery also may have complications at CMC. I went for my first delivery hoping for a normal delivery believing CMC will not recommend for C-Section unnecessarily. My Membranes got ruptured at 38th week. I immediately got admitted and they waited for normal delivery by giving medicine to induce labor pain. They waited for 18 hours, wherein I was not allowed to go to toilet, I got temperature nearing 100 degrees and finally delivered beautiful boy baby. My family were happy since my delivery was normal. But then the very next day midwife said my baby has respiratory problem and took him to observation room. The next day baby was moved to ICU and they told has GBS infection and treating the baby.The next day they said his kidney is infected a lot, next day they said jaundice developed in liver of baby and only 50% chance to survive, next day that is 6th day baby expired.
After a long grief and when I browsed in internet about GBS, I was shocked that when pregnant mothers membrane ruptures 37-38 weeks they should give antibiotic to mother and wait for normal labor pain at the maximum of 12 hours. Doctors(they look like village midwife) were very rude, they did not give any antibiotics, made me wait more than 12 hours, due to which GBS-Group B strep bacteria infected my baby’s body fully and finally treating him in pediatrics with antibiotice was not useful. The worst part is the chief doctor to whom I have registered for delivery, that stupid lady never came to see even after my baby died and before discharge, the chief doctor lady called me and said GBS infection are very rare in India, so we tried to treat your baby to survive but baby died. She said it never happens often to any pregnant mothers, may be god has chosen our baby for the GBS infection and its our fate! Will any doctor convince a patient like this, when they lost their baby!!!!!! I wrote a letter to dean of CMC, got a reply that treatment given was correct!!! My advice is never ever got to CMC for anything.
You may think its cheap, but the doctors are also cheap charactes, they dont understand patient’s emotion and dont know if they are really studied MBBS!!! The only hospital where if you register to any chief doctor you will be treated by house surgeon doctors, students. Chief doctors will never instruct them, will never come to see you even if you die.
