Dear All,
I should have written this review much earlier but have always post-poned due to the fact that going over what happened in the hospital pains me a lot. after reading an article today I think I should share my experience so that it is helpful for others. Read on.
My dad was diagnosised with Cancer(Non Hodgins Lyhmpoma) in January 2009 and was treated at Ramakrishna Hopital, Coimbatore. He underwent 8 chemotherapy sessions and was completely cured after PET scan confirmed it in September 2009. Cancer relapsed in November and we went through lot of trouble due to wrong diagnosis at Maruthi Hosiptal, Erode and K.G. Hospital, Coimbatore. I had reviewed K.G. hospital earlier and please do read it.
Since K.G Hospital didnt have a clue what was happening to my dad, we requested K.G to discharge my dad and took him to CMC, Vellore based on a family friends recommendation. Reaching CMC, Dad was admitted to ICU straightaway since his platelet count was very less. By seeing Dads physical appearance(red patches all over body and swollen limbs), doctors suspected it to be a relapse of cancer. Bone marrow test was done and our worst fears were confirmed when the results came - Cancer had relapsed and in the worst form of agrresive burkitt’s lymphoma. This form of lymphoma is very rare and hard to cure. Doctors adviced against further treatment since dad had already undergone 8 chemo sessions and any further treatment will make his condition worse. I was abroad and I was told by the doctor that my Dad has only 2 weeks to live!
I returned immediately and after discussing with Doctors, shift dad to Amrita hospital, Ernakulam, Ill review this hospital too but here are my likes and dislikes about CMC

Talented and very experienced, ethical group of doctors. There were 5 doctors and any treatment decision is taken after these 5 discuss the case with head. I find this to be very good against just one busy doctor at Ramakrishna. These doctors at CMC see many cases and know what works and wont work.
Diagnosis was correct . Regret we didnt bring my dad here initially. Doctors suspect reoccurence because diagnosis was not correct when Cancer occurred first
Dislikes
- Staff are rude when compared to Amrita hospital. It may be their daily job but considering what a family and the patient is going through, I think staff should treat them with love and care.
Facilities available( observed during my 3 day stay)
ATMs are available
Card payment is accepted
Advanced scanning and testing facilities are available.
I would still advice you to take your loved one here because the team of doctors are highly experienced ethical and skilled. You will not lose your loved one if fate is not against you.
My dad passed away after 2 weeks at Amrita hospital since he was administered to Chemo and his weak body couldnt take it.
Regards
Jay.
