Greetings to all, its been jus a few weeks since I’ve seen underworld n today I happened to watch this movie in a multiplex. Although the read the plot and the reviews 4m imdb which gave this a high rating so wanted to try out and see for myself, again the result came out a bit disappointing cos I expected more 4m it.
Though I was nt happy 4m the movie, I still wud nt completely say that I wud nt recommend it to any1. The type of audience wud b really less for this movie n don’t b surprised to see if the theaters are more than half empty which in case was with me.
This movie is seriously not for the one s expecting gr8 action n humor from the typical holly-wood movies.but regular English movie freaks can definitely try this.
The cinematography is a first person found footage type video format.Which u have already seen in paranormal activity series, but CGI is fairly better and improvised in this. the narrator is a teenage high school kid who is main protagonist called Andrew.
So this kid has a video-cam n decides to record everything since the time he bought it. he is shy, unorthodox and is infamous at school, having no friends and always being bullied by seniors. his family life is more miserable than his school life with a bed ridden mom of bad health and a drunken father who beats his son up all the time and abuses him.
He has only 1 friend who is his cousin Matt who also doesn’t treat him normally. but 1 n8 after a party his cousin and another friend called Steve, who the most popular face in school discover a crater in the forest nearby and all these 3 guys check it out underneath to find a blue crystal which turns red after each one of them getting in contact with it.
From the next day, these 3 kids develop super natural powers being able to fly, levitate and apply telekinesis.of all the 3, andrew starts using them in a negative way which results fatally for the group as well as the whole town.
The good points of the movie is.characters played.which is relatable and natural.most of the times when ur watching u wish or u actually feel that ur one of the characters of it.the special effects were good at some parts and really bad at some parts too.climax was done well.
Now comes the negative points.no humor.i expected dark humor.but there were bits by Steve.which was cool if u were a teenager.cos it was all teenage pep talk.the movie is very small. Just an hour and a half.but since there was no big story u wud expect to sit much longer.no explanation was given abt the nature of their powers.and abt the mysterious crater.which made impossible at some points to believe.that wat v were watching was fake all the time.
i wud conclude saying that.even if u miss this.it wud matter much.but nt a bad movie experience although.
