Steamed Dosa at Chutney's, Hyderabad

Being a Hyderabadi, I have been to most of the eateries in the city. Once such place I would like to frequent is Chutney’s, located near the Nagarjuna Circle in Panjagutta. I tried `Steamed Dosa’ here. And believe me, it left me craving for more! From the menu, I could see that this dosa has been customized for Chiranjeevi, a leading Telugu actor. The menu also features that the Steamed Dosa is cooked in Japanese style without using any oil.

It takes less than 10 minutes by the time they prepare and serve you this dosa. On weekends, it may take a few more minutes. The dosa is served with a palatable selection of four different types of chutneys and sambar. If you are someone who usually avoid oily foods and wish to try something different for breakfast, go ahead and indulge yourself with this rare catch. Such is the popularity of the Steamed Dosa at Chutney’s that you find gourmets dropping into the eatery and relishing it even at the lunchtime.

The chutneys and sambar (both are non-spicy) truly complement the quality of Steamed Dosa. Another impressive feature of this restaurant is that they serve water in copper glasses. The wooden interiors are well done and the ambience is quite homely. The staff is courteous.

If you are a Hyderabadi or happen to visit Hyderabad, don’t forget to sink your teeth into the soft, oil-free Steamed Dosa. Usually, one dosa would be enough for a person. The first time I ordered steamed dosa, my jaw dropped when I saw that it costs Rs 36. But after having it, I felt it’s worth every penny.
