Don’t ever be fooled by any of the cliched and phony commercials or advertisements that Cigna might use to promote their insurance products and services. (This is for the company with world headquarters at 900 Cottage Grove Road in Bloomfield, Connecticut, United States of America. but they also have several other regional offices in different cities and countries.
Here in India, it is "Cigna TTK Health Insurance Company Ltd." but it’s essentially the same company with the same "tree of life" corporate logo.) But like I was saying earlier: make no mistake about it whatsoever. This is a truly dishonest and unethical insurance company that will stop at absolutely nothing on earth to avoid covering claims and procedures which they are obligated to cover by law.
That’s exactly what happened to me throughout most of 2019 and even well into the current year 2020. Cigna basically back-pedaled their way out of covering "medically necessary" cancer treatment for me which I’d needed in order to stay alive. Can you really believe that?! (At first I certainly couldn’t believe it. then I got to learn what this insurance company is really all about.) But anyways Cigna didn’t care one bit that I was in pain and suffering immensely as a result of my metastatic breast cancer condition.
All Cigna keeps doing over and over again is sending countless coverage denial letters to both me and my doctors. All of my physicians and even my oncologists have been pleading with Cigna(to no avail) and have been trying to convince them that all of the cancer care: biopsies and chemotherapy as well as lifesaving medications which I need is indeed truly "medically necessary" in nature.
Yet Cigna still doesn’t want to hear any of it. They just keep denying my care and treatment over and over again even though it’s written right into my health insurance coverage plan documents and contracts that every single procedure and medication which I need in order to stand a fighting chance against my metastatic breast cancer condition is indeed truly "medically necessary." So far Cigna has sent me like at least 7 different insurance denial notices. I couldn’t upload all of them here in my review since there wouldn’t be enough space. But the 8/28/19 denial coverage notice(here on my Mouthshut review) says pretty much the same thing that all the others say which is that "the service or procedure is not covered."
Now as a result of all Cigna’ ridiculous denials it’s gotten so bad to the point of me having to retain legal counsel to help me battle their baseless and totally unwarranted insurance denials. But that’s still going to be a very long process which takes a very long time. Yet in the meantime, I am now in medical debt for well over$500, 000(U.S. dollars) due to Cigna refusing to cover my cancer care and treatment. And my credit has also gotten totally ruined in the process as well. Do you think Cigna cares one single bit? Nope! They sure don’t! Even if this health insurance was free I still wouldn’t insure even a cockroach with it! Seriously the insurance is that bad and Cigna is even worse with all of their sleazy and dishonest insurance denial tactics.
Please take my review to heart and do not ever sign up with Cigna for any reason! They will totally try to cheat and screw you over too just as they’ve already done to me! Save yourself all of the unnecessary stress and aggravation and hassle of having to endure dealing with all of Cigna’s sleazy and dishonest bait-and-switch insurance denial tactics. simply because they value corporate greed more than human life! Don’t say that you haven’t been forewarned if either you and/or your family still decide to sign up with this health insurance company anyways.
