Butt, OF course... Enjoy, Relax@Cinemax Goregaon?

Being a 5 ft. 10 inch girl, leg space, is the first thing I look out for, in a cinema hall. Waiting to eagerly see a certain movie, I stumbled upon the website of cinemax, while wanting to book my tickets for the same. Thereby, I called up their hot line number and merrily booked my tickets at Cinemax goregaon, since all other theaters were house-full.To be honest, I must mention I was tempted as the ticket was just priced for a mere 60.After all, I am a Mumbai local, watching where every penny goes in this expensive city.Apart from that, the pictorial visuals of the theater at the website were very appealing, thus, brain-washing me to think that I had a very good bargain, only, until, I reached there, of course.

The gleaming smile on my face disappeared soon enough, after waiting for an additional 35 minutes outside the Screen 2 entrance. No one knew the cause of the delay, including the guards, who were only allowing the small kids to attend to NATURE’s CALL.Well, as 35 minutes had passed away, the enraged people just burst thought the entry door, the guard unable to stop them and hence, paving way for audience entrance. The rough entrance was nothing as compared to the small corridor where some hundred people were supposed to stand and the place could only withstand the pressure of about 35. This place also, included the canteen and to add to my disgust, I was told to go to the stall canteen if a wanted a cup of coffee and walk up two floors again to sit in my seat, which was in the balcony. This was cool enough and turning a deaf ear to the advice of the Canteen guy, I decided to sit and peacefully watch the film. The only problem was that, I was unable to SIT.

My seat was so small that I could barely fit into it. And forget the leg space, I was more worried about getting stuck in the seat. Anyways, the urge for watching the film, made me squeeeeeeze into the seat. And to add to my disgust and fury, the film made no sense and the first word that came out of my mouth in the interval was “ouch” , as I got up from my seat. Butt, of course, my lower body started paining due to lack of blood circulation for I was constantly sitting in the same posture. I couldn’t imagine the plight of my 6”4’ tall brother, who caught my hand and headed for the exit.

Now that I come to think of it, these people actually help people stay fit as one wouldn’t eat anything from their counter and also one wouldn’t be able to squeeze into the seat if one is overweight. If one isn’t a GOREGAON resident (the ones who live near the theater vicinity) , I wouldn’t really advise anyone to go to that theater if a FAME or a FUN republic is nearby. The Enjoy, Relax, at cinemax tag line is only applicable to their Versova theater and maybe a few of the Nova ones. But all those single screen theaters which are now converted into double or triple screens , just aren’t worth it. If you feel this is worth it as the ticket price is only Rs. 60, don’t forget to add your massage bill to it!!!!!Trust me!!!!!!!
