Avoid, avoid, avoid

One word review:

Avoid.

Generics:

This restaurant continues in the Seasons Hotel(Aundh, Pune) tradition of bad value for money. Prices are high, portions are just enough, service is poor, ambiance is okay and taste is nothing special(or is even bad).

Specifics:

On arrival, we were given complimentary sugar cane juice. It had husk bits in it and tasted like a diluted version of the real thing.

We had 3 starters: bharra lamb chap, chicken seekh kebab and prawns ajwaini. All uniformally blah. Chaps(lamg chops) had decent masala and some were nicely marinated, but one of the chaps was raw. Seekh kebab was soft but tasted bland. Prawns were well cooked, but somehow didn’t give out the ajwain taste they were supposed to.

For main course we had rara gosht and roomali roti. This was the worst rara I’ve ever had. The mutton pieces were "soggy" and the keema was watery. Keema typically waters when its kept in the fridge for too long. Roti was cold and . well roomali roti doesn’t remain roomali once it gets cold, it becomes napkini.

For dessert we had phirni and ras-malai. Ras malai was good. It has to be - it was from the neighborhood sweet shop called Mithaas:-) . Phirni was bad . the rice was less than half cooked and they had put it in the fridge for so long that the spoons won’t go into the "paste" for a few minutes.
