I have been regular high end user of city Bank credit card for last few years.In June 2012 when I was in USA I got an alert that my card has been used in a 5 star hotel at Hyderabad. Via blackberry service I immediately sent them mail to say that there is some wrong as card is with me and no such transaction has been done by me. I also asked bank to take immediate action to trace the person since hotel must have kept his ID while giving the room.
City Bank in its routine refused to acknowledge the complaint and instead wanted me to download a form, fill scan and then mail to them not withstanding that I was in Holiday abroad. With great difficulty I manged this compliance.
Since then my account has been debited and credit with amount in question. However I have been asking the bank to let me know where I had gone wrong, or where their system went wrong and sought their advice what can be done at both ends to stop such fraudulent transactions.
Despite several letters, follow up with their call center all bank has done is to revert the entry in my favor permanently but has not come out with any guide lines what should be done to prevent occurrence.
It is surprising that bank does not want to address this important question or educate their customer. This is very very disappointing and unexpected of bank of such size.
