I have been holding a Citibank card (No 5425 5694 0604 8025) since 1996. Despite facing some service related problems last year I continues with the card since in any organization errors do occur. Unfortunately it seems that citi really has no place for cardholders like me. On Oct 31, 2001, I lost my card, I immediately informed the Bank and asked for another card to be issued. When I did not receive the card for a long time I contacted the call center, I was asked to call the courier company!!!! – why should I call the courier company – I immediately decided to cancel my card, despite that I was charged renewal fees in December. After the lost card incident I have called Citibank six times on 12/11, 25/11, 26/11, 29/11, 20/12/2001 and 25/01/2002 to either obtain my card initially and then out of frustration to have my charges reversed, all the calls followed the same pattern – “please send a letter to Chennai”, when I refused they assured me that it would be done, in one case I was even promised that the reversal would be faxed, needless to say that until date the charges have not been reversed (the duplicate card arrived mid-January!!!). On January 25, 2002, a Mr. Angello refused to give me the e-mail ID of the MD or any other staff member stating that they do not have e-mail IDs, also he stated that the confirmation would not be faxed to me though earlier I was told the fax would be sent…………….. the CITI never sleeps!!!!!
