I am also a person who had very bad experience from CITIBANK. I had to open a Business account and obtain a letter from the Bank, to complete the formalities of Company Registration. Though I had a bad experience with Citibank earlier on a personal account, I again went to them based on a close friends persons recommendation, hoping that my close friends relation with one of the Relationship Manager (RM) will help me complete the process ASAP.
During the meeting RM told me that I can bring the amount in local currency and then can get a DD from there. When I went there with the amount, he told me that they cannot issue the DD and has to be done from somewhere else. And he was also saying that I should have asked before (which I have f**kin did). I went back to the currency exchange company from where I converted the amount to BD, asked them to issue a DD in BD. But they said it can be done only at the time of exchange and now it cannot be done. I ran back to the RM in CB. At this stage he helped me to get a DD in BD. Gave him the DD. He promised me that the letter will be ready in the Banks head office next day evening by 4:30 PM.
Next day, I gave him a call at 3 but he didn’t answer. So I started from my place to the bank which was almost 1 hr tips and when I reached there I luckily met the RM there. He told me the letter is not yet ready and it will be ready only next morning by 9:30. Frustated and annoyed I left the place. Next day I reached the bank at 9 and the guy who shld give me the letter told me that his superios is not yet in and I have to wait. Now look - bank starts at 8 AM and the idiot who has to sign is not in his office till now.
I had to wait upto 10 AM to get the paper signed and by this time I had ran out of my patience and I told the person that - You say CITI never sleeps, and what the hell are you doing now buy not keeping your word. This idiot then rang the RM and told him whatever I told like a foolish parrot. Now the RM rang me and said it was a personal favor and usually thinks will take more time and all sort of nonsense. I told him that he should have mentioned before that it is a personal favor and I didn’t know that I will have to beg for the letter after depositing hell a lot of money in the bank.
Once again friends. CITIBANK is SHITTY-BANK. They have very bad professional ethics and are trained to behave like Morons. I wish I could mention the names of the people who harassed me, but because my friend introduced me to them I am not doing it.
