I had this wonderful experience with Citibank personal loan section and city finance.
The whole story begins with, after numerous calls from tale marketing sweet li’l girls of citi bank(they say so, actually they call from Citibank associates and there is no relationship with Citibank directly.) finally I made up my mind that I will take a personal loan to settle out some urgent requirement. It was a month end, so the girl told me their executive is really busy, please come to their prim rose road, Bangalore office. I went there filled up all application forms. They said in 3 - 4 days I will be getting the loan.
That was a Tuesday. From Wednesday onwards I was answering n number of questions from citi bank callers even though I have a neat and not that bad salary account and neat credit card account with Citibank for more than a year. That was it. After 10 days of long waiting I called up the executive who talked to me she & he both said they are working on it. Finally I called citi bank, customer support. I waited for more than 30 minutes on the phone, my call get transferred to different people, finally to my shock I came to know that I applied to citi finance not to Citibank!
Again from there personal loan section one lady called me, she was kind of very helping and assured me, she will follow-up everything and still I can go for the loan. By the way my other application got rejected, I came to know about that from her. Desperate me believed this trick and again one executive came to my office, took my photo 5 signed cheques and one photo. again after 7 days wait I came to know that its also got rejected but using my ready credit option I can go for a loan with a cheap intrest of’ 24%’. By this time I gave up, I settled the amount in some other manner.
Now the problem is this lady calls me once again, I said her to return my documents and since I was in roaming, never really didn’t got time to talk to her much.
Now when I call her it says this number does not exist. By the way I came to know that she was also from a citi associate later.
Why citi bank kind of a large bank is allowing their associates to use their name and cheat their own customers?
I have very personal good experience with Citibank customer support, but then one bad experience will take all those things away.
This is just an alert message to those who likes to apply for this loan, also careful and ask about your intrest rates. My friend got cheated on intrest!
