This is one of the worst bank of the world and should be closed with immediate effect. There customer service people are one of the most non sense people on this planet. I have been SHITY BANK customer for past 10 years and below is what they have done with me.
2 months back I found out that my citibank NRI account is deactivated as I wasnt able to do any transaction online. After calling these these SHITY JOKERS I was told that bank sent me quarterly statement to the address where I was living 5 years.
Point to note here that I have been receiving statement to my new address for past 1 year but suddenly dont know how these jokers sent the statement to old address.
Even after requesting 100 times on the call these joker people did not activate my account and asked me to send utility bill to NY office so that they can update my address.
I sent utility bill with the address verification letter to NY office and called up again to these bunch of jokers and then I was told that letter needs to reach from NY to Chennai, India and my account will be deactivated once this SHITY bank gets the letter.
Again one more week passed by but my account was still not activated so I called customer care. First person on the call told me that SHITY BANK has misplaced the letter so I will have to send documents again.
After speaking to supervisor I was told that previous associate gave me wrong info but I need to wait for 1 more week for Chennai office to receive the documents. One point to note this was already after 2 week of sending my documents to NY office.
I trusted that joker mAnasultanger and disconnected my call after talking to SHITY BANK for 2 hours. On this call I was told that my account will be activated in next 2-3 days and I will get call from Chennai.
Now here starts the best part of this story. I got call from SHITY BANK associate after 2-3 days to inform me that they have received the documents but they cant activate my account because I sent utility bill as my address proof and SHITY BANK needs some government ID proof which has my US address.
I asked this joker .why on the first call I was told to send utility bill and why now you asking for government ID proof.I also told I dont have any government ID proof which has my current address.then I was told if that is the case then my account cant be activated.
It been 2 months my account is still not active. citibank is real BS.
