In the current scenario, where there is a tough competition between corporates and financial services, such kind of big banks should be aggressive
and responsive towards complaints and grievances especially in the matter of fraud.
I had a Suvidha account no # 57xxxx3229. with Citibank. This was my salary account since April, 2006. I found that there was a fraud transaction on date 20/08/2007—(Payment for Credit Card No. 5546XXX9XXXX1000) Rs. 192.50 and on date 19/09/2007 (payment for Credit Card No. 5546XXX9XXXX1000) of Rs.19873.84 **which was totally wrong and had never been done by me. I was totally surprised to see this transaction.
When I contacted Citibank customer care many times (like Sep 6th, 8th and 19th etc. and so on) and told them about these transaction which had not been done by me ever, to cancel these transaction and to block the other card they told me every time that we have blocked this and doing our processing and will let you know after that but on 19th of September, I still had lost my money from my account. And when I asked them how my account has been attached to that card, they replied that it is done automatically by system and we cant do anything in this.
I requested them to take an immediate action towards the case at the earliest so that I can get my money back as soon as possible. But instead of investigating the case, they started calling me again and again on the phone number which they took for the complaint and started threatening me for more payment of that credit card which I never used.
I tried to lodge the FIR against the case in respective police station but during investigation, the executive talked with the officer and told him about the (so called) investigation. And after that the officer denied to lodge the complaint saying that they are doing their work and will give the result.
Present Status: Now I am just like helpless and looking to go for legal case against them in Consumer Forum so that I can get justice. Being a Pvt. Organization employee, I am unable to take rounds of their branch again and again but now they will have to compensate all this. As this was my Salary account, I had really a big problem in this situation when they took almost all amount of my salary from the account.
I would like to suggest to other consumer who is having or looking for the relationship with this bank. Be Aware of such kind of malfunctioned bank** where nobody knows his responsibility and customers situations in these problems.
