Citroen, the French automobile brand has been making headlines in India for the past couple of years. The cars are said to be very comfortable and practical, made for families who value convenience. I decided to go for the Basalt, manual version, as I really loved the design and tech features. However, the ride experience was not that amazing. The engine, while smooth, is noisy at higher RPMs, and the automatic gearbox feels jerky in stop-and-go traffic. The suspension is also a hit and miss and struggles on very uneven surfaces. I also noticed the absence of some basic features like a master door lock/unlock button, better sound insulation, and auto-dimming IRVM.
These are some features you expect from an entry-level car, needless to say from a Citroen. Overall, it is a smooth ride with a spacious and comfortable cabin, but these small things can be a spoilsport if you are a car nerd and want the best value for money.
