WARNING: Rheas getting lazy I couldnt find the topic for just normal Herbal Essences shampoo. I am writing about the moisturizing shampoo for normal hair.
-----------------------------------------------------
We all know the commercials.
One that comes to mind in particular is of a woman whos been on the road for a long time, and her car has broken down. The mechanic says itll be a while, so she goes to the bathroom to freshen up. While she is in the bathroom, she washes her hair with Clairols Herbal Essences shampoo and has the patented orgasmic experience. Meanwhile, the mechanic can hear her and he rips out certain vital parts of her engine. She comes out, sees her car is all ruined, and flips her hair (which dried surprisingly quick?) and smiles. After all, she uses Herbal Essences shampoo.
Who? What? Where? When? Why?
I picked up a bottle of Clairols Herbal Essences shampoo at my local drug store. I have to admit, it was on sale for $3.99 for a 355mL bottle. I picked the moisturizing for normal hair shampoo because my hair is neither oily nor dry. Plus, it has chamomile, aloe vera and passion flower in it, and I was sure that it would make me smell nice. I usually use Pantene Pro-V 2-in-1, but it wasnt on sale, and I like to switch brands about twice a month so it doesnt build up in my hair and make it dull and limp.
The fateful shower.
I stepped into a moderately warm shower (overly hot water is not good for washing your hair, and cold water is just unthinkable). I made sure that my long, thick tresses were thoroughly wet and I opened my new bottle of Clairols Herbal Essences shampoo. No music, no strobe lights, no parties (thank God). The subtle smell of chamomile and passion flower took over my senses. I breathed in deep and then placed a dallop of shampoo in my hand the size of a silver dollar. If you have shorter hair than me (mid-back), you should use less. I start at the roots and massage the cool gel-like shampoo into my scalp. No tingles, but it does feel nice to be washing my hair. Then I was the rest, making sure to lather it well, cleaning all the city pollution out. Sticking my head under the water, I rinsed the lather from my hair, making sure that all of it is out. For best results, I followed with ClairolsHerbal Essences conditioner.
Is it as good as they say?
I combed the tangles from my hair and used a hair dryer to dry my hair. It was noticeably shinier and not heavy or limp. My hair was soft to touch, almost like I had wrapped each strand in silk. From the time directly after my shower until even the next day, my hair smelled like that wonderful soft chamomile and passion flower scent that I enjoyed while I was washing my hair. I didnt have an orgasmic experience like every woman in the commercial experiences, but I wasnt disappointed. I can live without such nonsense.
Rhea says.....
I recommend this product to people who have normal hair, not dry or oily. One should always use the product best suited to them. Im not so sure that this +99% natural and plant derived product is all that much better for your hair than all the other shampoos, but it does smell nice, and they dont test it on animals. If youve been using this product for a while, take my advice: change your shampoo and conditioner brands at least once a week (have four sets to use). When you use the same shampoo all the time, it builds up in your hair and fails to clean it completely. Anyways, this bottle lasts me about two months, and it is good quality and good price.
Buy it! But dont expect anything like that which they show on the television....
