TRip Id - 1308035866 I had booked a hotel in Mahabaleshwar for 2 days during the August 15th weekend using Cleartrip. I had researched in the Internet regarding the best rooms available in a particular hotel and booked that through Cleartrip and got the confirmation as well. However 2 days later an executive calls me and tells that the room that you have booked is not available and we will upgrade you.
I looked at the room they are offering was not an upgrade but was almost similar and in fact didn’t had the view which I wanted from the previous room. I denied taking the upgraded and said I need the rooms that I had booked. This went on for 7 days and worst is the customer care asked me 5 times for 5 days a time for 24 hrs to resolve this issue but nothing happened.
Every day it was uncertainty that whether we will get the accommodation or not in the hotel that we booked. Due to Aug 15th weekend, lot of other hotels were also getting filled fast. I kept calling them and they will promise that sir it will be resolved within 24 hrs and they failed every time. I finally got into a call with them and threatened them to file a case against them and then this guy promised to rectify and asked for time till next day morning.
On the day I was travelling to Mahabaleshwar, I finally got a call from them that the room that you had booked is confirmed but this had gone for 7 days and I had to fight so much to get the room that I had a confirmed booking. Why do they overbook when they cannot provide the rooms to their customer and harass them. You go for a vacation for relaxing and they make sure you are not at peace after you book with them.
Also the hotels deals may look tempting compared to other websites but hotel was offering much lower rates in their website. Hope they improve and stop harassing customers.
