I don’t even want to start by saying that I was happy with this travel portal’s service. I faced problems with this portal from the time I started my booking.Here’s what I had to go through:
While booking my return leg ticket from Mumbai, the transaction failed but my account was debited for the ticket which did not get booked. I immediately called customer care who told me that if money has been debited, the ticket will be sent you your email id in one hour. And indeed, I received the ticket.
However, due to certain reasons, I had to cancel the ticket the night before the flight. Cleartrip’s Customer Service Representative(CSR) told me that last moment cancellations are done directly with the airline. I called Kingfisher to cancel. They asked me to inform Cleartrip so they can process my refund. I did as I was told. But when I called up Cleartrip’s customer care, they told me that the booking cannot be found but they will locate it and generate a refund but it will take 15-20 working days.
Today, it’s been more than 3 months and I still have not received any refund amount.
I followed up on emails month after month but all in vain. The CSRs have no clue; they keep you on hold for ages and give you general gyaan.
Incidentally I also followed their instructions to send an email to their customer support with guaranteed response in 24 hours. I have sent emails again multiple times as a reminder and I received only their automated response acknowledging receipt and giving the same nonsense about being very customer centric.
This fraud company first conveniently forgot to provide a refund and then after being reminded also, took no action to refund the money. I have no choice but to file a consumer court complaint. They should wait for the court orders and see all kind of negative publicity on social media websites.
