Hi,
I am planning a trip to Delhi from Bangalore and was searching for the "cheapest" availabe tickets.
I came across many sites and many travel portals. I found that in general the airline sites offering tickets are economical than any travel portal.
For instance, tickets on spicejet.com and indigo.com are cheaper than those offered by the travel portals like travel.indiatimes.com, makemytrip.com, travelraja.com etc. However, there is just a little difference between the two. I read an add of clartrip.com in Times of India and gave it a try and found drastic difference in fares, hence this review.
Ok Return Fare between Bangalore and Delhi ( for 2 people) on spicejet was 12000, goair.in was 14000 and indigo.in was 13900.
Jetairways = 19000
KingFisher = 19500
Then I decided to check out cleartrip.com.
I got a very nice looking interface, I was impressed. All the date selection etc are very good.
+ve for Cleartrip.com
It searched many airlines, where as airline sites only give results for thier own airline ( how stupid)
+ve for Cleartrip.
It took a long time searching, search on airline site is much faster
-ve for Cleartrip.com.
Cleartrip gives 5% cashback on Air Sahara tickets.
+ve for Cleartrip.com
Ok enough beating about the bush, here comes the actual part.
The minimum return flight for 2 people on cleartrip.com was for 23000 ( 23K !!!)
All the positives suddenly turn negative.
Even the full fare airlines like Jet and Kingdisher are not charging that much.
Cleartrip was supposed to be economical-- wel it definately is not.
As compared to spicejet.com, the fare is almost twice.
In a nutshell, If yur brain goes nut and you value a nice looking user interface and have too much money to waste, Please do book your tickets through Cleartrip.com.
