ClearTrip or ClearTrap is buy one get one ticket ?

Firstly I would like to thank mouthshut.com for offering us to write review and I strongly recommend people to read reviews from mouth shut.com before purchasing any products or services from any supplier or merchant

Please be aware of the trap clear trip and other popular websites are putting all of us into by offering the buy one ticket get one ticket free. Unfortunately I am a victim as well L

How many of us actually know how does this thing work? Or can we join hands so we can take action against such promotional offers.

The buy one ticket get one ticket free is non refundable base fare that is provided during the offer.

This means if you book a ticket using the coupons you will be getting a discount on your base fare and this isn’t that whole ticket is free like it’s advertised and also they choose the airline in which the tickets need to be booked. Is this an offer or a demand?

E.g. If you book a ticket from Bangalore – Mumbai the total cost would be Rs 5000. The coupons will only give you discount of Rs 1000/= which is the base fare and the way its advertised is like they are going to give you a completely free ticket by waiving the whole amount Rs 5000/=

That’s not all you will need to book the ticket before a specified date for a travel which is 14 days latter than your booking date an that’s not all if you intend to cancel or reschedule your journey they will deduct the whole amount of Rs 5000/= and nothing will be refunded to you

How was I a victim?*

I with a lot of sadness would like to narrate my misery, I like any son or daughter in this world wanted to take my parents in a plane for a journey they could remember. I came across this very attractive offer of buy one get one free from Clear Trip**.

I saw the offer was quite good so went ahead and booked a ticket for Bangalore to Jaipur and then received the promotional coupons for another airline. I decided to book our return tickets using the promo codes, the only mistake I did was choose an additional day for my return than what it was supposed to be…. This was not a mistake but I crime I committed to myself.

I latter realized what I had done and went ahead and cancelled my tickets to book it for another day but just before I did this went through the cancellation process of clear trip where there had mentioned that you can view your refund amount before proceeding with the cancellation and it showed me a refund amount of 5584/=(the actual cost of my booking after discount was Rs 8584/=) which was fine with me as it was a mistake from my end and I could let go of Rs 3000 as the cancellation charges for 3 tickets(Rs 1000 Per Ticket)

After few days I noticed my account was charged Rs 8584 which was the actual cost of booking. Now is where my misery began and I called clear trip to inquire the difference as instead of refund I was over charged an amount Rs 5584/=.

The lines to the call centre are always busy and it takes about a minimum of 20 mins for you to reach a representative. The automated says that we can send an e-mail if we don’t want to wait for a representative but I doubt if there e-mail department even works because I have sent them to 2 e-mails and I am yet to hear from them.

I then managed to get hold of a representative who very sweetly informed me to read the terms and conditions of the booking which reads as below;

What if I cancel my free ticket?

Sorry, the free ticket is completely non-refundable. You will not get any money back if you cancel your free ticket. However, if you cancel your original ticket you will get a refund as per the airline & Clear trip cancel.
