I had subscribed to Club Mahindra – Studio White couple of years back. After being unable to get the timeslots for the places I wanted in more than a year and not getting a good service, I decided to cancel my membership.
That’s where the main problem is. As per their fine print, you will NOT get any money back(subscriptions fees/EMIs, etc.) if you don’t cancel your subscription within the first 6 months of joining them. Been talking to their reps for a while and even escalated to their management but no use.
It usually takes more than 6 months to get a slot at a good resort and experience their service. If a company is hiding behind the fine print to lock you down for long term but not rely on their service to do so, you can decide on their business foundation and ethics. I’m really surprised that this is a venture from one of the corporate giants in India.
As for not being able to get the timeslots on the resorts, they say, you can trade the days from Blue and White(off-season) to peak season days. But you can book only within 15 days of your vacation time if you’re from a lower level. It’s almost certain that you’ll never get a vacant slot within 15 days of going on vacation in a peak season.
These days, with so many vacation packages available and published on a daily basis, I think this long term commitment(25 years) is not worth it, especially when you don’t have the option to get cancellation refund after the first 6 months.
