I have read the other review posted in this site., Following is my review after my first vacation with Club Mahindra. I promise to keep this channel buzy every time I have an experience(good or bad) with them.
I enrolled as a member 10 months before I first took a vacation at Club Mahindra and I feel a little disappointed for doing it. I am sure I would have travelled around lot more if I had gone on a vacation earlier. Club Mahindra, Munnar is where I decided to go and rightly it is an amazing experience I have over there along with my wife.
From the very beginning it was smooth, the reservation, confirmation and Itenary with the details of the Holiday and facilities at the Club. The frequeny SMSes confirming the details and the detail route map etc etc. It was Excellent from the very beginning.
As I was vacation at other places where CM has no smell of, I reached Munnar on day 4 of my 10 day driving vacation. It was quite a tiring drive as I was driving via Guruvayur and Trissur from Palakkad since 1100 PM previous day. The last 20 kms drive from Munnar to CM was getting exciting every turn with the curving/blinding roads and a very very inviting scenic green. Every turn was exciting not as much as the 29 hairpin bends to go to Ooty., but the breather turn was the steep left-hair-pin turn before the right turn into the portico of Club Mahindra.
Alas ! I have reached and was swamped by the men dressed in black who opened my Black Car door and almost pulled me out. I reached out the reception to fill the registration form...voila...before I put the pen to paper someone disturbs me (welcomingly) with a glass of chilled jeera pani. That was just the start.
As we finished the registration we were told that the Lunch will close in sometime but the CheckIn can be done after lunch. We were lead to Lunch and after a splendid lunch we completed the check-in process and rested for a while. Then we met the Relationship Manager, Monisha(?) who gave us a briefing of things to do and we were more than eager to enroll to Salsa and Rappelling and Jummering. We wanted her to help us with a special request for a welcome/room decoration for a friend of mine who would be checking in next day for his honeymoon. She willigly agreed to ensure something will be done and she on the fly promised to leave a cake in their room on the house. It was very very warm and sweet.
Evening we took a stroll around the Club and it various facilitues, Activity Room and Souvenier Shop and LifeSife Chess and Swings and Holiday World etc.. it was all really good. That evening it was quite cloudy and the outdoor activities were called off, we decided to go on next day. We were pleased with the hosipitalaty Justin and his colleague (I dont remember the name, but have mentioned it in the feedback form I filled-up at the Club) who were serving us all smiles all the two days.
Another important note to mention, everytime we called either the housekeeping or room service we didnt hear the phone ring for more than once. It was awesome., and the rest of the staff on the floors always greeted and smiled thru and thru. This is surely an very warm and pleasant experience. Cheers to the staff. We got out orders on time everytime. Next day was Onam and every staff would always wish Happy Onam instead of the Hello which echoed the previous day.
Next day, my friend checkin nothing happened but we talked to Monisha and her other colleague (forget her name, sorry) and they asked us to keep the guests out of their room for 2 hours and they will make the flower arrangements as a surprise for them. We agreed and took them with us for Salsa session and drinks and Dinner for around 3/4 hours. Rightly the room was decorated, surprising my friend and he was more than surprised :).
Then on the day of the check-out, we packed our bags and then then ordered our breakfast then I came to the reception to keep the bills ready., but the minute I told them I am planning to check out, in the next 10-15 seconds I had the bills in my hand and he said the bills are ready. I told him I will finish breakfast and settle it., I got back a nice smile !
At the lifesize Chess me and my wife replaced the white king and the queen pawns and stood then and took a picture, and rightly so we felt from the beginning till the the end of our stay at Club Mahindra, Munnar.
